After gathering more details from headshot photographers, the one that is closest to my budget and style preference isn't available until May...
Which is actually beneficial since I filled out the questionnaire for Image by Buckley for styling consultation and apparently they are booking out 2 months in advance as well - so figuring that will land sometime in April - just in time for the photo shoot.
ITS ONLY A FEW MONTHS AWAY, MEGAN! Jeez.
But like I told Chelsea during our big picture call, I was born impatient. Literally. I was born a month early. And I skipped 1st grade and later went to college in a dual program instead of having a senior year. I could rattle off some other unpleasant examples but suffice it to say, I've never liked waiting for anything.
Acting is the one dream that I've felt like I've always had to wait for in one way or another. Like any art form, it rarely if ever feels complete or ready or done. *SIGH* That's probably why I'm so drawn to it.
So I guess I'll take this as a sign from the universe, I need to be patient and let life happen in its own time. I want so badly to have representation and a shot at legit acting gigs. But I'm on this journey of self discovery, I've been acting for years and I'm only just now really defining my self and my type. Or at least the self/type I have become. Acting isn't going anywhere. There are parts for tough old broads, right? I will get there. Eventually.
Gahhh I can 10000% appreciate that frustration when things don’t go as planned, but you are pivoting like a champ - and it sounds like it’s all working out wonderful this way!
if I may suggest a goal pivot? Coming up with your short list of agents/managers that you would like to be repped by. This way you can start following them on socials, seeing if they have any workshops or upcoming opportunities for you to introduce yourself. That way when the headshots are hot off the presses you have a great reason to reach out and it isn’t your first time doing so!
Just a thought. Whatever you decide I support, I would encourage you to re-write your contract or comment below it what your revised focus will be this month (even if it’s just redacting the headshots) so that come show and tell you are reminded you have accomplished what you set out to do!
