Ok! So I sent in my cover letter - thank you SO MUCH JUNESOO for helping me with that. And now... more job opportunities are presenting themselves. I still feel vastly under qualified for any of them but since I now have a basic idea of the letter, i might as well just tailor it and send it out! WOO Bird

In January 2022!!!
Hey all! I hope everyone is kicking ass, celebrating wins (however small or great), and turning to their buddy or the forum for support, if all else seems to fail. My short freakout last week ended up providing me the permission to drop my ego and pivot my goal in ways that actually supported my growth. I have made a few edits to my goal. I, Bird, will have accomplished • 15 Days of 'Color Modules' diary (pivoting to: 7 daily person tarot reading w/ reflection paragraph) • Select the next 4 titles for The Play Readers (Completed, now pivoting to - begin by selecting 5 scenes/ monologues for upcoming February TPR) • Gather all 'house' documentation (by 1/16/2022) • Finalize a filing system for documentation by 1/23/2022 woot!

Accountability is used broadly these days. Often Accountability is used as a substitute for "responsibility" - which isn't entirely wrong... but Accountability is so so so much more. Accountable (adj) {a person} required or expected to justify actions or de cisions; responsible. Responsible (adj) having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for someone, as part of one's job or role. Accountability is an aggregate of Responsibilities, meaning: You CAN have Responsibility without Accountability - You CAN NOT have Accountability without Responsibility. Accountability is • A VULNERABLE PROCESS!!! • hard work • Accountability can not be achieved by someone who does not know themselves wholly, their processes wholly, or their abilities wholly. • the act of being SEEN, HEARD and UNDERSTOOD. • Self-reflection • Awareness and ownership • Awareness and ownership over your role in a team and / or a specific task • Awareness and ownership over your word • Awareness and ownership over followthrough • Awareness and ownership of what you do and do not have control over • Awareness and ownership of your personal continuity • Awareness and ownership of your personal process * Do you work better solo? Do you work more efficiently in a group? Do you thrive with a deadline? Do you procrastinate or self sabotage? Lean on your teammates or support system to hold you accountable.* • Awareness and ownership of the expected process Holding Others Accountable: You can only hold someone truly accountable WITHOUT the use of SHAME or JUDGEMENT. Feedback stemming from shame or judgement are not productive, actionable o r constructive. • Accountability is established in a task, goal, relationship etc before hand • Blame / Shame / Judgement are mechanisms established after the fact. • Accountability Example: Holding your elected official accountable to a campaign promise: "You are not doing your job in the following ways" • Blame/Shame/Judgement Example: Blame/Shaming/Judging your elected official for not fulfilling a campaign promise "You suck at your job, idiot, this is your fault" a great way to hold others accountable without "confrontation" is to praise them when they are fulfilling their role. Shame, blame and Accountability • Shame is a physiological AFFECT- a response to an outside stimulus. The response is disassociation, self focus and leads to a performative expression of excuse and apology. • The affects in your life are on a spectrum. One side brings you towards something (goals etcs) while the other side pushes you away from something: Affects pulling you towards something are: Joy, Love, Affection, Accomplishment etc. Affects pushing you away from something are: fear, anger, ill will, imposter syndrome etc. Shame is right in the middle of the spectrum- both pulling and pushing you all while forcing you to look inward, become self focused and unable to be truly accountable; you are more likely to use blame, excuses, performative apology and get nothing done. Why Perfectionism is based in shame and not Accountability. Shame is based in "victim"thinking. If things are not perfect, I am to bla me, others will blame me, it is my fault etc. Those are SELF FOCUSED excuses. Not accountability. Accountability is taking control of Shame. Both in terms of being held accountable and holding others accountable. you can control, avoid and mend a shame spiral by Seeing, Hearing and Understanding yourself or those you are holding accountable. Steps to Achieving Accountability • Set aside pride and ego. • Be honest with yourself and with your team about your capabilities • Do you truly understand the task? • Do you truly understand your role? Tips and Tricks • Set yourself up for wins! • Don’t over commit to a project • Don’t over commit to a team mate • Establish boundaries for yourself Excuses Vs. Reason • Excuse - (verb) an attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify. • Reason- (noun) a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event Actionable Change • Do not simply apologize - change your behavior • Apologizing is important but solves nothing. You must also change your behavior. (its like receiving a note from a director.) the past few days have been kind of rough mentally - 100 % because I forgot to take my meds and I kind of went off the rails for a bit. I'm back, medicated and dreaming about introducing Chicken to Jimmy Kimmel on air. The feelings from the heartsquish I went through last month have resurged with a vengeance. The difference is this time around I have a compassionate support system. I do still have major sabotage-y tendencies, like going to see his new show and getting too drunk and yelling at him about his poor choice in toxic deodorant. I miss him. I don't know if I thought he was my forever person, like i don't even think I believe in that construct for me anymore, but I do want him in my life longer. Selfish, yes, but my daily pattern update just told me to 'own all of your qualities without guilt or inhibition". I choose selfishness. I have a ton of judgement being "that girl" who is derailed by a guy and blah blah blah. I hate that I think about him and I hate that I talk about him like it matters to anyone else. I have to break it down as if I am a character in a play going through these circumstances - because it's not about him, really. It's about attaching feelings to something. How do I feel about the feelings and how do I feel about having attached them to something that does not have the capacity to juggle or reciprocate. How do I feel about who I was during the transfer of feelings and how do I feel now? How did my life look before, during and after this transfer? Knowing one can not truly go back, how do I feel moving forward having lost something? Knowing one can not truly go back, how do I feel moving forward having gained something despite the loss? Anywho- I have a call back in a few hours. The spot is a young couple making out in a car. The audition was horrendous as this stranger adamantly thrusted his tongue in my mouth despite the repeated instructions by the CD to not do that. Hopefully he didn't get the call back and I get paired with Jake Gyllenhaal. Then I'm off to Noisy Nest. I have a meeting about creating a separate Audition + Rehearsal studio in the next office over. Lots to do. Huzzah! x B

Heya i had some insane dreams last night of confronting an ex and it was very fun. I woke up at 7am to two very loud young women laughing and yelling over their rolling suitcases. they're moving in two doors down. I spent the morning organizing my notes for the accountability check ins and am excited to touch base with all of you! I feel like I have a better grasp on myself these days although i still feel pretty useless having nothing to do all day except inconsequential tasks. i don't know if this is because i'm still being called to take a break from Noisy Nest or if I'm continuing to do it out of fear? Either way, i need to do something. Its time, with or without Noisy Nest as a whole. meh. Speak with you all soon! x Bird

Hey - I dropped off for a bit there, its been an insane weekend. I had been planning my sister's bachelorette party for months, only to have to trash the whole thing and start over a week ago thanks to a mouthy friend of hers who spoiled every single surprise for the weekend. The party was this weekend so I was in San Diego with 8 women who I am not particularly close with. It ended up being a shit ton of fun, aside from my 1 gargantuan panic attack Friday night while everyone was sleeping. I woke up every morning at 6:30/7am to cook breakfast according to their many food restrictions, cleaned the house and set up for the days activities. I loved it. I love hosting people, and cleaning and cooking and... i'm pretty sure I think I would have been okay being a 50's housewife... which hurts my staunch feminist heart... but i do make a mean Old Fashioned. All of this gathering I've been doing the past two weekend has got me thinking about my life path. My intention with Noisy Nest was to have a place for people to gather. I love the meticulous details and accommodating everyone's needs all for that deep yet fleeting recognition that all of this was for that person. Over the past two weekends I've come to find out two women I admire so much because of their journey on their own life path, are both leaving their plans behind to forge new path. This gave me the courage to look at the intersecting roads on this path I've been walking on since I was 16. It's worked out okay so far, except I'm not married to my high school sweetheart and I don't have kids yet... so, let the edit begin! Happy Tuesday! x Bird
